Opportunity

Project Summary

School Datebooks sells a variety of products and services these days, but during my time there I helped with the design and production of four-color educational datebooks and scholastic products for primary and high school levels in North America. Among many projects including a major acquisition and product merger I also worked as part of a team of designers to product multi-level educational resources and products. Annually we created thematic prototype designs for datebook materials, designs, large-scale pre-press cycles, custom cover artwork and press checks. I had the opportunity to serve as product subject matter expert for the Canadian product line suite and managed the subsidiary company marketing, products and website needs.

Approach

We worked together as a design and marketing team leveraging sales member feedback and business owners & stakeholders to establish necessary product enhancements and design improvements year-to-year to meet the needs of both American and Canadian scholastic markets. Seasonally we created fresh publication designs for numerous product lines including the Canadian language and holiday conversions, supplementary marketing collateral and website design needs for both the parent and subsidiary companies.

Solution

We created fresh modern seasonal designs with each product cycle and iterative product line enhancements including features and evolving design based off customer feedback. Each year we had new product launches and matched the high-demand fast paced production needs for thousands of schools nationwide and throughout Canada.

Impact

Our fresh annual designs and exceptional customer service made our design team strong and our clients happy. We successfully managed a large acquisition and product merger during peak production season while delivering superb creative solutions and marketing collateral.
