Opportunity

Project Summary

The creative agency I worked for at the time landed a client affiliated with Nexgrill, KitchenAid, and other family brands. We had an opportunity to create a base design for the packaging that would then be adapted to fit several product models and distribution locations that required translation of copy and other requirements. The design would serve as the annual product line packaging with established parent branding guidelines that would be replicated across multiple channels including print, digital and more. The designs would extend to POP designs, flyers, product landing pages and other marketing collateral beyond the packaging itself.

Approach

First we created a base design as a team that could then be replicated from the parent theme to the respective child product lines and package sizes. Beyond adapting sizes and products to seamlessly tie the family suite together we also adapted the designs based on the distribution center and locations. In doing so we translated some designs to French and Spanish, swapped product imagery, adjusted size flucations and adjusted partner affiliate logos and brands to match. I collaborated with the Chinese vendors through final production and distribution.

Solution

The final product was a cohesive family suite of related products and assets under the parent brand umbrella. We completed numerous models, versions and appropriated marketing collateral to reflect the specific language translations, distribution locations, and other product model needs for their specific retailers and regions under the Walmart or Costco companies and affiliates.

Impact

We achieved a successful annual product line production and distribution schedule encompassing product packaging, marketing flyers and POPs advertising slicks along with other related designs such as product landing pages. These efforts then tied into the annual product campaign launch with the suite of cohesively related designs and products.
